Since 1971, the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) National Conference on Student Assessment (NCSA) has been the trusted forum for assessment practitioners to learn and reflect upon current and emerging trends in education and educational assessments.
This year, the conference theme is Designing an Effective, Coherent Assessment System for All Learners. State education leaders play a critical role in designing a strong assessment system that meets the needs of all learners and stakeholders throughout the system. During the COVID-19 pandemic, state leaders and assessment professionals explored new and innovative approaches, using advanced technology to better understand how to reach students, measure learning and provide timely feedback to adjust instruction.
This year's conference will convene state leaders, assessment practitioners and other experts to learn lessons from these innovations and continue to build effective, coherent systems that best serve all learners and stakeholders across the system. NCSA's platform will facilitate an exchange of best practices, strategies, research findings and valuable resources that support states in implementing high-quality assessments and robust accountability systems, ultimately driving better outcomes for all students.
